Lokalinis karas (įgaliotinių karas)
Lokalinis karas vyksta ribotoje teritorijoje. Įgaliotinių karo atveju išorės galybės remia kovojančias puses ginklais, lėšomis ar patarėjais. Supervalstybės galėjo ir tiesiogiai siųsti pajėgas; vietos veikėjai išlaikė savus tikslus. Todėl šios sąvokos ne visada tapačios.
