Fighting the Bermontists
Bermontists were a unit of German soldiers remaining in Lithuania after the war, and Russian White Guards (who fought against the Bolsheviks), led by Pavel Bermont-Avalov. They plundered and sought to overthrow the Lithuanian government. In November 1919, the Lithuanian army completely defeated them in the Battle of Radviliškis. This was the first major and independent Lithuanian military victory.
